Many teams are born among friends that play recreational paintball. Often, these teams seek to move up the chain towards bigger and better things. Though all the fame and glory you may seek seems distant and perhaps unachievable - with some work hell anything's possible. Structured practices and team drills to hone skills on the field are the answer. Practice aim, snap shooting, run throughs, and most importantly communication during games.

Paintball has a language of its own, make sure that your team has a general agreement/understanding on terms. If your playing a speedball tournament then the best practice is on a speedball field. Sometimes though this isnt an option, so gather up your team, set up some basic bunkers and practice snap shooting while lighting up a stationary target. Then, have your team set up targets ( trash can lids.. paint boxes.. anything will work ) behind bunkers. While your teammate times you via stopwatch, see how fast you can run through and eliminate each target. Allow the back players to do this drill as well, never know when they might find a stunning opportunity.

Before the first major event, see if you can find out how the field will be laid out. Take a walk through if its possible. Know atleast a gameplan of where each person will go - and execute. This will give you a major edge on the competition who tries to plan on gameday.
